Mineral and Matter Medium Ethiopian Natural Opal Ring

Ethiopian opals have a translucent yellow to clear coloring with lots of flashes of red, pink and green throughout.  From relatively new sources in Ethiopia, this hydrophane stone features the signature vivid translucence and play of color typical of high-quality white opal. While the more common Australian opal comes from sedimentary deposits, this opal comes from volcanic deposits.  

This ring has a 6mm natural Ethiopian opal sitting in a round bezel cup.  Band is 14k goldfill.
